VAST Web

Web & Product Design

VAST Data's website has to explain an operating system for AI to infrastructure buyers, data scientists and CIOs at the same time. I designed the pages that carry this story and laid the foundation of the design system they are built from. The same foundation runs the event platform, new products and internal tools.

Design system foundation

I laid the foundation of VAST's web design system: color and light, typography, grids, the first core components and page templates. On that base the team grew a complete atomic design system, and the whole site is built from it today.

Pages built on the system

I designed more than 15 pages within the system: product and platform pages, use cases, partner pages, company pages and demo flows. I also worked on localizing the site for regional markets, including the full Japanese version.

Event sites anyone can launch

The foundation reaches beyond the website: every VAST product inherits it, including the event platform. It works as a constructor of ready-made blocks: a hero with registration, sessions, speakers, sponsors, the agenda, FAQ, the venue map and related content. Marketers assemble a page from these blocks, and GTC, ISC or a regional roadshow still clearly looks like VAST. More than 400 event pages have been built this way.

TCO calculator

Shared components and a common UX logic make it quick to build new products and tools for the team. The TCO calculator is one of them. The public version on vastdata.com lets visitors estimate their savings from a few inputs and see where they come from in three charts. The internal version is a working tool for the sales team: they model a customer's workloads by dragging them onto clusters and sites, keep platform profiles in a shared team library, and turn the finished deal into an on-brand presentation in one click. All figures shown here come from an illustrative example.
